We’ve had an update from Pinmore and Pinwherry Community Council at our Assel Valley Wind Farm in South Ayrshire.
They have also been busy rising to the current challenges and have extended the support they usually offer through their Patient Transport scheme. This means that residents who can’t go out due to illness or self-isolation have the costs of delivering shopping and prescriptions met or they are collected and delivered by volunteers.
An initiative to collect and deliver orders for fresh fruit and butchery products from local shops in Girvan is also underway.
The community council has set up an emergency food bank, particularly for anyone who is now unemployed and not eligible for any current Government benefit. The community council is also examining ways of creating a hardship fund.
Well done to all the volunteers who are doing a sterling service looking after their communities.
