We shared some of our experiences of working in a STEM Industry with schoolchildren from around Scotland this week.
Our Asset Manager Jamie Steel and Site Manager of Millennium Wind Farm Bruce Hosie took part in the Scottish Council for Development and Industry’s Celebration of STEM 2021, giving the young people taking part a virtual tour of the wind farm and an insight into a career in renewable energy. One of our Operations Analysts, Erin Baker, also shared some of her experience in a more office-based role.
Falck Renewables has been a sponsor of the SCDI’s Little Lighthouse scheme for the past two years. The programme gives primary children an opportunity to find out more about careers in subjects linked to science, technology and engineering. Training for teachers is provided and classes carry out scientific investigations, combat engineering challenges and learning to programme a micro bit computer – all with the aim of constructing their own functioning model lighthouse.
