Rogart War Memorial Refurbished

The refurbishment of Rogart War Memorial has been completed in time for this year’s Remembrance Sunday service, thanks to local volunteers and part funding from Falck Renewables’ Kilbraur Windfarm Community Benefit Trust.

80% of funding for the upgrade of the Memorial came from our Kilbraur Wind Farm. As well as cleaning the Memorial, work included repairing and painting the gate and railings and replanting the flower beds.

Project manager and former Legion Scotland Branch Secretary Fiona Porter said “It is great to see the improvements we have been able to make to the War Memorial. Our aim was not only to restore this beautiful site in the centre of the village but to help the community maintain it in future by making it more manageable. I am so pleased the work has been completed before this year’s Remembrance Sunday service so that the people of Rogart can remember the fallen at a site that properly reflects their gratitude and respect for the sacrifices they made.
